Dr. Lane is chairman of the Carequality Steering Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of The Sequoia Project, TEFCA’s Recognized Coordinating Entity designated by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). He also serves as a member of the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) for the Department of Health and Human Services, the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Interoperability & HIE Committee, and the Da Vinci Project Clinical Advisory Council. Avery Haller, MPH (Executive Director of Strategy & Partnerships @Health Gorilla) Avery Haller is Health Gorilla's Executive Director of Strategy and Partnerships. She came to Health Gorilla in 2021, leading a push for strategic partnerships and business development. Before that, she served as a program manager at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She has a master's degree in public health with a concentration in community health partnerships from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA. Jim Jirjis, MD, MBA (Chief Health Information Officer @HCA Healthcare) Dr. Jim Jirjis joined HCA Healthcare in August 2013 as Chief Health Information Officer of the Clinical Services Group. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign (BS, Cum Laude), the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine (MD) and Vanderbilt University’s Owen School of Management (MBA). He is board certified in Internal Medicine and completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). He also serves as a member of the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) for the Department of Health and Human Services. Shelly Spiro, RPh, FASCP (Executive Director @Pharmacy HIT Collaborative) Shelly Spiro is Executive Director of the Pharmacy HIT Collaborative (PHIT). PHIT is an organization of the major national pharmacy associations and associate members focused on advocating and educating key stakeholders regarding the use of health IT to better enable pharmacists to help optimize person-centered care by the inclusion of pharmacists within a technology-enabled integrated health care system. Spiro is active in national pharmacy associations, standards development organizations (NCPDP and HL7) and is a leader in Pharmacy health IT. She is an American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) Past President, 2014 Archambault Award recipient and 2019 Women’s Spotlight Award recipient. She was named in 2019 by Becker Hospital Review’s 102 women in health IT. She earned her BSPharm degree in 1976 from University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. She has authored several articles and is a national speaker on topics relating to health IT systems and electronic prescribing. Colin Banas (Chief Medical Officer @DrFirst) Dr. Colin Banas is an Internal Medicine Hospitalist and former Chief Medical Information Officer for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Health System in Richmond, Virginia. He earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Virginia, his M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and a master’s in Healthcare Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Banas was a Health IT Fellow at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) and has testified before the U.S. Senate on health IT and the Meaningful Use program. His interests center on the role of big data and analytics on patient outcomes and on novel forms of clinical decision support that are outside the realm of traditional rules and alerts, including real-time dashboarding and intuitive usability designs. In 2017, Dr. Banas was honored with the HIMSS-AMDIS Physician Executive of the Year Award.
